Olsen, Margaret Cooper

Margaret Cooper Olsen, beloved wife of Herbert Olsen, died Sunday, January 27, 2008, at home with her family.

Margaret was born October 8, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York to James and Lillian Cooper, the tenth child of ten children. Margaret was the much-loved mother of three children, Eric, Kristeen, and Deborah; the grandmother of four children, David, Allison, Christian and Peter; and the great-grandmother of two children, Mary and Alina. Her love extended to many good friends who, with her family, mourn her death and give thanks for her life.

In addition to raising her own children, Margaret helped hundreds of other children through her many years of work as Fiscal Director at two Catholic childcare agencies in New York City. Her courage, honesty, and compassion touched many lives in many ways and she will be sorely missed by friends and family.

Memorial services to celebrate Peggie’s life will be held on February 9, 2008 at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 706 Harding Avenue, Blacksburg (540-552-1091). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
