oliver freddie leeFreddie Lee Oliver, age 73, of Blacksburg died, Monday, December 23, 2013, at the University of North Carolina Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on August 5, 1940 to the late Sidney Lee and Dorothy Slusser Oliver. Freddie was in business as Freddie Oliver’s Auto Mart from 1976 till 2003 and then was employed with Harvey’s Chevrolet for the last six years before his retirement. Freddie retired from the National Guard as a major with 28 years of service and was a member of the 29th Division Association, Post #64, was a member of the Hunter’s Masonic Lodge #156 AF&AM for nearly 50 years and was also a charter member of St. Michael Lutheran Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna Harris Oliver of Blacksburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian Lee and Tammy Oliver of Blacksburg, Darron Scott and Sharon Oliver of Radford; two sisters and brother-in-law, Martha O. Huffman of Pulaski, Judy and Willis Alls of Blacksburg; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas S. and Debora Oliver of Blacksburg, Paul Terry and Carol Oliver of Salem, Freddie is also survived by his four precious grandchildren, Joshua Lee Oliver, Jeremy Scott Oliver, Cameron Scott Oliver, Braydon Michael Oliver. Memorial service will be conducted Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 1:00 pm in St. Michael Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Wertz officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall at the church.
