Oliver, Dorothy Slusser

Dorothy Slusser Oliver, 87, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Radford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on October 30, 1919 to the late Alfred Nutter and Nettie Duncan Slusser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Lee Oliver; a brother, James W. Slusser; and also a great-granddaughter, Cordelia Elizabeth Huffman.

She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Martha O. Huffman, Pulaski, Judy and Willis Alls, Blacksburg; three sons and daughters-in-law, Freddie and Donna Oliver, Blacksburg, Thomas S. and Debora Oliver, Blacksburg, Paul T. and Carol Oliver, Salem; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ruth M. Slusser, Roanoke; nephew, Wayne Slusser and wife, Virginia; niece, Marlene Burton and husband, Norman; a cousin, Lou Lafon and husband, Lamah.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rador Vaden and the Rev. Steve McMurray officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Tuesday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
