Marguerite Dayne McCoy Olinger, 94, entered her heavenly home September 17, 2021. Born in McCoy, Virginia to Marvin Isaac (Billy) McCoy and Margie Mae Croy McCoy, she was the second oldest of six children. In addition to her parents who pre-deceased her, were her in-laws Paul Leddean Olinger and Clara Belle Landes Olinger Harman, step-father-in-law, Thomas H. Harman, her husband of 51 years, Harry Conway Olinger, sisters and brothers-in-law, Clarice (Judy) and Garvin Lindsey, Peggy and Ellison Price, Norma and George Rutledge, brother and sister-in-law Delwin Dale (Sonny) and Mary Jean Quesenberry McCoy, brother-in-law Andy Snider.

Marguerite attended Centennial Christian Church in McCoy, Virginia until she married and moved to Price’s Fork, where she then became a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church there in Price’s Fork, and later a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church, which had formed from the merger of St. Mark’s (Price’s Fork) and New St. Peter’s (Glade community). At St. Mark’s and St. Michael she taught Sunday School classes and sang in the choirs. Marguerite was also a member of the Price’s Fork Grange, and for many years was found at the annual Price’s Fork Fair escorting judges throughout entries to the fair for ribbons to be awarded, preparing/selling food, and in her later years watching over the entry displays.

Those left to cherish the memory of this great lady are her daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Kay Olinger Graham and Denson Thomas Graham, Terrie Mae Olinger Repass and Harry Wayne Repass, grand-children Shawn Andrew Brown, Denson Travis Graham (Crystal), April Dawn Brown Cockram, Kasey Leddean Graham (Pachouli), great-grand daughters Makayla Dayne Brown, Justyna Brown, Madelyn (Maddie) Mae Brown, Abigail (Abby) Rae Brown, Lakyn Dawn Cockram, great-grand sons Dustin Potts (Lauren), Tanner Conway Brown and Dawson Andrew Brown; great-great grand daughter Lena Allen, step-grandchildren, Jessica Repass Plunkett and husband, Todd, Preston Repass, step-great-grandchildren, Damein McPeak, Lena Hardin, Mackenzie Repass, and Laurel Repass; step great great granddaughter, Lena Allen, sister Mary Jo Snider Lindsey. Many nieces and nephews, as well as neighbors, friends and her St. Michael Church Family.

A memorial service in her honor will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 3 p.m., at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 2308 Merrimac Road, Blacksburg. Suggested memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church, Blacksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1300 Progress Street Northwest, Blacksburg, VA 24060, or a charity of your choice.
