Obenchain, Cynthia Draper

Cynthia Draper (Cindy) Obenchain, 56, of Pulaski, went home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, March 3, 2011, after battling cancer for the past year. She was the daughter of the late June Draper, of Pulaski, Va., and the late Betty Kelley, of Eagle Rock, Va. She was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Mickey Draper. Surviving are her stepfather, Lewis Kelley, of Eagle Rock, Va.; daughters and their spouses, Shannon and Jon Akers, of Christiansburg, Va., Daniele and Adam Mosely, of Blountville, Tenn., and Lindsey and Doug Woodward, of Aiken, S.C.; her grandchildren, Cody, Dylan and Ty Akers, of Christiansburg, Gracie Linkous, of Christiansburg, Va., and Hunter and Madison Woodward, of Aiken, S.C.; her brother and sister-in-law, Joey and Melody Draper, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; sister, Sharon Hensley, of Troutville, Va.; nieces and nephews, Kasey Brammer and Jason Bordas, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Thomas, Jillian and Daniel Draper, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; as well as a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Cindy worked as a realtor, property manager and she owned and operated Obenchain’s Greenhouse located in Christiansburg in the early 1990s. She always enjoyed drawing, painting, photography and working in her flower beds. A special thank you to Pastor Arnold Murray and Shepherd’s Chapel for bringing her to Christ. The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 7, 2011, from 3 to 5 p.m. after which time a memorial honoring her life will be held at Horne Funeral Home at 5 p.m. with Chaplain Todd Triplett officiating.
