Alvin Edward Nuckols, Sr., age 88 of Floyd, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009. He was a longtime, loyal member of the Floyd United Methodist Church, where he served as a Trustee; a craftsman, woodworker, and blacksmith; and a U.S. army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by: Mother, Bessie Curling Nuckols; Father, Alvin Knight Nuckols; and Sister, Evelyn Taplin.
He is survived by Wife, Ethel Jordan Nuckols; Daughter, Pamela Nuckols; Son, Alvin E. Nuckols, Jr.; and His Pride and Joys, Brooke and Ashton Williams.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Floyd United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Gregory, Dr. Don Stansell, Theo VanBleck, and the Good Samaritan Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery with Military Honors by the Floyd V.F.W. Post #7854 & American Legion Post # 127. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel.
