Nolen, Ethel Lee

Ethel Lee Nolen, 78, of Blacksburg, died on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at her home. She was born in Montgomery County, Va., on September 8, 1933, to the late Caley Elgin and Gracie Lee Sarver Nolen. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Bishop; and a brother, Gale Nolen. Ethel retired from Roses Department Store in the clothing department with 38 years of service. She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothena and Bud Doss, of Blacksburg, and Margaret and Carl Simmons, of Baltimore, Md.; three brothers and sisters-in- law, Alvin E. and Dollie Nolen, of Pearisburg, Clarence and Viola Nolen, of Radford, and Leeroy Nolen, of Blacksburg; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Eller Breeding. Graveside Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011, in the Belmont Cemetery, Christiansburg, with the Rev. Gary Poff and the Rev. Rador Vaden officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, September 14, 2011, at the McCoy Funeral Home.
