Nolan, Timothy Patrick

Timothy Patrick Nolan Sr., 45, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, March 28, 2009. He was born on February 23, 1964 in Burlington, N.C., and raised in Winston-Salem, N.C. He attended Reynolds High School. He made his home in Winston-Salem, N.C. for 27 years.

He is survived by his sons, Timothy Patrick Nolan Jr., Brooklyn, N.Y., and Justin Christopher Nolan, Winston-Salem, N.C.; his father, Joseph B. Nolan Sr., Christiansburg, Va.; brothers, Joseph Nolan Jr., Lynchburg, Va., Kevin Nolan, of Stokesdale, N.C., and Matthew Nolan, of Kernersville, N.C.; sisters, Summer Fulcher, Raleigh, N.C., Sarah Allen, Vail, Ariz., Christy Faith Nolan, Greensboro, N.C., and Grace Wilkins, Garner, N.C.; sister, and fiance, Holly Richards, Christiansburg, Va., as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Faith Nolan. Pat loved to learn and to think. He saw everything through unique eyes and understood them with a singular mind. Pat revealed himself through his woodwork, writings, and sly sense of humor. He was a skilled carpenter and tradesman who loved to create. Pat will be remembered for his generosity to strangers who inevitably became friends. He gladly helped whenever he was needed, opening his home to a friend in need, to weekly visits to a neighbor recovering from surgery.

The family will be receiving friends at their home on 103 Park Street, Christiansburg, Va., Tuesday evening, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009, with Father John A.
