Nixon, Ingle Eugene

Ingle Eugene (Gene) Nixon, age 80, of Christiansburg, passed away at home Wednesday, October 19, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. T. and Bertha Nixon; three brothers, Rex, Junior and George Nixon; sister, Ava Ellen Sumner; and sister-in-law, Ruth Nixon.

Survived by his wife, Evelyn Ridpath Nixon; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Pat Nixon of Salem; sisters-in-law, Carlene Nixon of Salem, Irene Nixon of Christiansburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to caregivers Eunice Dudly and Judy Duncan. Special thanks to Gentle Shepherd Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2005 at the Horne Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Vest officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted however those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to the Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Wades Lane and Clearview Drive, Christiansburg, Va. 24073.
