Ninmann, Franz Thomas Frederick

Franz Thomas Frederick (Frank) Ninmann, of Floyd, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, from Woodhaven Nursing Home, in Montvale, Va. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Veda Weddle Ninmann; and a son, Leonard Eric Ninmann. He was born May 19, 1917, in Wisconsin.

He is survived by daughter Cheryl N. Waldron and husband, Donald, of Bent Mountain; son, Ben Ninmann and fiance, Gloria Flory, both of Lancaster, Pa.; grandson, Jon Waldron and wife, Sue, of Check; granddaughter, Susan W. Thomas and husband, George, of Roanoke County; nephews and nieces, Bill, Estelle, Hal, Teresa, Bev, Jim, Gary, Carolyn and Joyce, of North Carolina, California and Wisconsin; other extended family and friends.

He was a lifelong member of The Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod and a founding member at Good Shepherd, in Roanoke County. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in New Guinea, and awarded the Purple Heart, Distinguished Unit Badge and Good Conduct Medal.

Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2009, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, also an hour prior to the 11 a.m. service on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, in Floyd, Va., led by Pastor Keith Beasley of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. Burial will be at Topeco Cemetery.
