Niece, Hazel Stevers
Hazel Virginia Neice, who lived 89 years, three months and 15 days, of Pembroke and formerly of Goldbond, departed this life Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek after a long illness. Born in Kimballton on July 16, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Effie Jennings Stevers.
She was a devout Christian and had been a member of the Goldbond Gospel Tabernacle and attended the Evangelistic Holiness Chapel in Pembroke as long as she was able.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Howard Neice; a grandson, William Douglas Neice; and several sisters and brothers. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Jane Blevins Neice, of Glen Burnie, Md.; four grandchildren, Janet Robertson, of Richmond, Kathy Hill, of Glen Burnie, Md., Billy Wayne Neice, of Pasadena, Md., and Melissa VansKiver, of Glen Burnie, Md.; 13 greatgrandchildren; 21 great-greatgrandchildren; a special grandniece, Rosetta (Sissy) Neice, of Ripplemead; and a foster child, Paul Junior Neice.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
