Newcomb Jr., Clifford Kendrick

Clifford Kendrick “Ken” Newcomb Jr., 68 of Christiansburg, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at LewisGale Hospital-Montgomery. Ken spent the majority of his life employed as a door installer in Memphis, TN. In recent years he was employed at Walmart of Christiansburg, VA. Ken was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church of Memphis.

Ken was born on April 5, 1951 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Clifford Sr. and Dolly (James) Newcomb. He is survived by Judy Ann (Stegall) Newcomb whom he married on December 17, 1976. He is also survived by a daughter and son in law, Christopher Lee and Amanda Jane Sheppard of Christiansburg,VA.; one granddaughter, Shelby Ann and one grandson, Samuel Cody; two step-grandchildren, Leslie Brooke and Lance Christopher; his brother and sister in law, Benny and Deb Cummins of Conroe, TX.; his sister, June York of Seminole, FL. and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves close family friends, Walter and Crystal Reed and family as well as many other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude in honor of Ken.

Horne Funeral Home will be in charge of cremation arrangements. Services will be held at The Bridge Foursquare Church on Sunday, August 11, 2019. Viewing will be from 5-6 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 6 p.m. Pastor Will Fillingham will officiate.
