Nelson, Betty Walters

Betty Marie Walters Nelson, 76, of Christiansburg, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Sarver Walters and Clarence Lee Walters; son, Kenneth John Nelson; grandson, John Patrick Jenkins; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita Walters Linkous and Bobby Linkous; brothers-in-law, Irwin R. ‘Mac’ McLain and Lloyd J. Main.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Marie Nelson-Jenkins and Don Frederick Stoner, her fiance; grandchildren, Robert ‘Max’ Jenkins II, Emily Walters Jenkins, and Abigail ‘Abby’ Vaughn Jenkins; sisters, Mary Francis Walters McLain and Martha Walters Main; sister and brother-in-law, Iris Walters Grimsley and John Grimsley; stepdaughters, Corliss Ann Nelson Sullivan, Kenna Nelson Carpenter, Leilani Nelson Colandreo, and Kelly Nelson Wallace; family friend, Randy Kellar; and many special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 2 to 3 p.m. immediately prior to the funeral service which will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 3 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David D. Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Belmont Cemetery, Christiansburg.
