kinkade-walk-with-jesusJoseph W. “Joe” Myers, 77 of Painter’s Woods, Draper, departed this life peacefully in his home on April 1, 2014. Joe was a lifelong resident of Pulaski County. He served in the U. S. Air Force, was with Sears for 30 years and was “Mr. Sears” to many people. He owned Joe Myers Home Improvement and various other business ventures over the years. He was a man of faith and his life was a witness of his love of God.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Mara “Lea” Myers, his son Charles Lawrence Myers, his parents, Lawrence and Bertie Myers and grandson, William Lee Bowman.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael L. and Debrah Myers of Pulaski, daughter, Elizabeth June Bowman of Akron, Ohio, sons, Jeffrey Dean Allison of Dublin, and James Theodore Allison of Allisonia, his daughter and son-in-law, Laura Mechelle and Lee Dalton of Dublin, son and daughter-in-law, Anthony William and Robin Allison of Draper, and daughter and son-in-law, Cindy Marie and Jeb Huckabee of Anderson, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Diane Myers; sisters and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Robert Roark and Jackie Spence; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 pm on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Power of Deliverance Church, 6545 Lee Highway between Dublin and Fairlawn with the memorial service to follow. Delores Caldwell will conduct the service with a special piano presentation by Andy Allison, his grandson.
