Brenda Carol Blankenship Myers, 72 of Narrows, VA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Blankenship was born on March 6, 1948 in Giles County and was a daughter of the late Kermit Fitchue Blankenship and Zelma Henderson Steele Blankenship.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita B. Hudson, one nephew, Kermit (Huck) Hudson, three nieces, Stephanie Dawn Hudson, Diana Carol Akers and Angela Carmela Lucas.

Mrs. Myers was faithful to her church and her church family at Mountain View Ministries, Church of God of Prophecy in Narrows. She was a retired employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows with over 30 years of service. She loved her Greenwave football and ringing her cowbell. If she wasn’t the first in line, she was in the top five in line on Friday night. She also loved her Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a special, one of a kind mother, who will be deeply missed by her son. She also loved her cooking channels, her cookbooks and enjoyed preparing different meals and baking cakes for her family and friends.

She is survived by one son, Timothy Allen Myers of Narrows, one sister, Reta Mae Kellison of Narrows, a very special niece she loved with all her heart, Maci N. Link of Narrows, and a special dog, Tacoma. She also leaves behind many family and friends who she deeply loved. God has gained a very special Angel.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 1pm at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jim Hagy officiating with burial following in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at Givens – Riffe Funeral Home from 6 – 8 pm. We will be observing COVID-19 precautions.
