Mutter, Ruby G.

Ruby G. Mutter, age 98, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020, at the Country View Assisted Living in Peterstown, WV. Born October 26, 1921, in Bozoo, WV, she was the daughter of the late John David and Mary Combs Reed.

Ruby was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Jessie Frazier, Vivian Frazier, Ellen Butler, Frankie Ganoe, Ruth Martin, and Deela Lowry; four brothers, Bernard, Tilden, Otto, and Otis Reed; her first husband, Robert Wills; and her second husband, Ernest Mutter.

Survivors include three sons, Wayne Wills of Bozoo, WV, Marcus Mutter of Bluefield, WV, and Bruce Mutter of Princeton, WV; three daughters, Judy Kirby and husband Bill of Narrows, VA, Mickey Walkup and husband Toney of Bozoo, WV, and Jill Skidmore and husband Edward of Pearisburg, VA; grandchildren, Doug Kirby and wife Carolyn, Deborah Kirby, Troy Walkup and wife Valerie, and Vance Skidmore and wife Vikki.

Additionally, the family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Country View Assisted Living for the excellent care they provided.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Rick Green officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
