Mutter, Betty Allen

Ida Allen “Betty” Mutter, 88, of Rich Creek, VA formerly of Oakwood, VA passed away, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Country View Assisted Living, Peterstown, WV. Born January 6, 1928 at Bozoo, WV she was the daughter of the late Lee H. “Teb” and Lura Wills Allen.

Mrs. Mutter along with her late husband of 69 years, Ira Cunningham Mutter was the owners of Mutts Furniture in Rich Creek, VA and Oakwood Auction in Oakwood, VA. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers; John “Harry”, Clifton, Timmy, Eugene, and Woodrow Allen, three sisters Rena Humphrey, Geraldine Shires and Thelma Pennington. Survivors include her daughter and special son in law, Sue Mutter Bradley and husband Donnie of Rich Creek, VA, brother in law, Andrew D. Mutter of Bozoo, WV, sisters in law, Ruby Mutter and Frances Allen of Peterstown, WV, special fella, Buddy Adkins of Rich Creek, VA, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ricky Green and Rev. Betsy Switzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterstown Cemetery, Giles County, VA. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Rich Creek First United Methodist Church, 108 Old Virginia Avenue, Rich Creek, VA 24147.
