Murray, Lois Moudy

Lois Moudy Murray, 82, of Newport, Va., and formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., departed this life Wednesday morning, April 29, 2009, at Kroontje Health Care Center in Blacksburg, Va. Born in Greenville, Texas, on January 6, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Elmer and Myrtle Mae Felmet Moudy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Col. (retired) Lynn Odell Murray whom she faithfully supported in all the moves of his long military career, as she also worked at various government jobs.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Carl Schieffer, of Dallas, Texas, Sharen and Kent Dyche, of Kernersville, N.C., and Karen and David Yolton, of Newport, Va.; her four grandchildren, Bill Schieffer, Beth Schieffer, Richard Dyche, Ben Yolton; and her two great-grandchildren, Mary Schieffer and Carl Schieffer.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date at Ft. Bragg, N.C. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke, Va., is serving the Murray family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Lois’ name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or DAV.
