David Alvis Mullins, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born December 13, 1942, in Davy, WV, he was the son of the late William and Rinda E. Lester Mullins. David worked as a roofer for several years. He loved music and was the lead singer for the Country Drifters for over 30 years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant daughter, Rinda Pauline Mullins; stepdaughter, Tammy Jean Hodge; one brother, Raymond Luther Mullins; and one sister, Anna Mae Freeman. Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Mary Mullins; three sons, David Jeffrey Mullins of TN, Robert Shannon Mullins, and William Michael Mullins, both of Ballard, WV; two daughters, Sherry Denise Mullins of TN, and Carla Elizabeth Hubbard and husband Greg of Waiteville, WV; thirteen grandchildren, Lindsey, Felicia, Josh, Shawana, Shannon, Sandon, Ben, Jordan, Ryan, Michael, April, Alley, and Sara; several great grandchildren; five sisters, Ellen Reist and husband Ralph, Marie Mann, Bertha McPeak, Frances Erskine and husband John, and Sarah Catherine Blackburn and husband Sonny; and many friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Tim Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at the Keaton Cemetery in Greenville, WV, with Jamie Mann, Joey Mann, Greg Hubbard, Ryan Moretz, Michael Moretz, and Terry Tabor serving as pallbearers. Timmy Freeman will serve as honorary pallbearer.

In light of the recent COVID outbreaks in the area, it is highly recommended that those planning on attending the visitation and funeral services wear a mask and practice social distancing.
