Moye, Sr., William Daniel

William Daniel (Danny) Moye, Sr., 77, of Pearisburg departed this life Wednesday morning, September 6, 2017 at Carilion New River Medical Center in Radford. Born in Staffordsville, on March 16, 1940, he was a son of the late James Walter Moye and Helen Croy Moye. He was a 1958, graduate of Pearisburg High School (Red Devils), and before his disability with Parkinsons Disease was employed with Emery Fast Freight as a driver trainer. Danny was an avid sports fan and championed the teams at Giles High School, The Washington Redskins, and UVA. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of DAV. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Moye “Buggs”.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loving wife Reida Lucas Moye; his son William Daniel Moye, II of the home; his grandson Zach Moye of the home; his daughter Susan Annette Moye of Pearisburg; his brothers and sisters-in-law Dr. Jerry Moye and Lillian of Houston,Texas; James Moye of Midilothian and Nancy; his sisters Ruth Mildred Stafford of Blacksburg and Mary Jane Stafford of Rich Creek.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 11, 2017, at 1:00 pm, in The Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery on Bagging Plant Road in Dublin. Graveside military graveside honors will be conducted by the local VFW and American Legion Posts and the U S Armed Forces.
