Moseley, Frank Ruffy

On the evening of November 16th, 2021, Frank (Ruffy) Moseley passed away in Blacksburg, Virginia with his family by his side. Frank was born in Lexington, Kentucky, but called Blacksburg, Virginia home since the age of three when his father was recruited as head football coach for Virginia Tech.

He attended Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina for his bachelor’s degree and Radford University for his master’s degree. He was a dedicated public school history teacher in the Montgomery County Public School system for 32 years. His life-long interest in history made him a deeply knowledgeable, devoted and passionate living historian.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank O. and Edythe Moseley. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy H. (Lea) Moseley, his daughters Nancy and Virginia Moseley, his sister, Alene Danby, his niece Tracy Williams, his nephew, Michael Goodwin and his grandsons, James and Carson Higham.
