Walter Verlin Morris went to be with his LORD Jesus Christ on December 7, 2014. Verlin was born on April 3rd, 1929, on Foggy Camp Farm, Fancy Gap, VA. He played football with the Dublin Dukes, and served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his brother, Rudolph, of Dublin VA, his children Randy (Beth) and Mark (Kathy); his grandchildren, Natalie Sizemore (Leslie), William Morris (Jesica), Josh Morris (Kristen), and Chrystian Morris (Sheryl Ann), and Kelly Morris; and his great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Chloe, Zachary, Preston, Daniel, Logan, Kaleb, Destiny, Lydia, and Noah.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Baity Morris, and his sisters, Violet Melton, and Mary Lois Stump Carmichael. Verlin was an Army veteran of the Korean War and longtime member of Courtney Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, from 6-8pm on Tuesday, December 9th.

Memorial services will be held at Courtney Baptist Church at 11am on Wednesday, December 10th by Dr. Richard Capps and Rev. John Brown. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Full Military Honors by the NC National Guard and the VFW Post 10346.
