Melvin Morris III, 52, of 4798 Black Hollow Road, Dublin passed away Thursday, November 2, 2006 at his home. Born November 3, 1953 in Newport News, Virginia he was the son of the late Melvin Morris Jr. and Vaynita Epps Morris.

A member of the Dublin United Methodist Church, Melvin was a retired Deputy for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. He was a past Master of the Snowville Masonic Lodge and a past District Deputy for the Masons of Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, Angi N. Morris, Dublin; children, Bryan Johnstone Morris, Floyd, Trevor Andrew Morris, Dublin, Ty Welker Morris, Dublin; cousins, Emogene D. Adkins, Pulaski, Mary Beth and Ken B. Alexander III, Roanoke, Va., Madge and Wes Winfree, Gloucester, Va., HR. and Kimm Dellinger, Gloucester, Va.; mother and father-in-law, Debbie and David Skewes, Dublin; father and mother-in-law, Dr.’s Bimbo and Amy Welker, Marysville, Ohio; sisters, Pamela Fleckenstein, Eastern Shore, Va., Dawn Morris, Smithfield, Va., numerous friends.

A memorial service with Masonic rites will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Dublin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Rowland and the Rev. Mike Travis officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday evening at the Dublin United Methodist Church. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski is handling the arrangements.
