Morgan, Richard Montgomery

Richard Montgomery Morgan, 80, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Friday, January 13, 2012, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. He was born on August 27, 1931, to the late Francis and Dorothy Junkin Morgan.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Skinner (Peggy) Morgan, of Blacksburg; daughter, Kimberly Morgan Custer, of Somerset, Pa.; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Carolyn Morgan, of Pilot; brother and sister-in-law, David and Millie Morgan, of Hampton, Va.; grandchildren, Jacob Morgan, Joseph Morgan, and Nathaniel Custer; and special pets, Maude, Callie, Chio, Jennifer, Sam, Chevy, and Chester.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.R. Shelor officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Montgomery County, P.O. Box 287, Blacksburg, VA 24063-0287.

Friends may call any time on Sunday, January 15, 2012, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW, Blacksburg, Va.
