Arthur Raynard Morgan, 61, of Blacksburg, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday, March 17, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born in Radford on March 14, 1945 to the late Eustace Ray and Evelyn Flinchum Morgan.

He was a veteran of Vietnam War, having served in the US Navy Seabees MCB 72. Arthur was owner and operator of Morgan’s Excavating.

He is survived by his wife of forty years, Jane S. Morgan of Blacksburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie M. and Brian Simmers of Blacksburg, Debbie M. and Dwayne Wood of Salem, Peggy M. and Glen Meade of Pearisburg; five grandchildren, Lexi and Carlie Simmers, Adam and Megan Wood, Whitney Meade; one sister, Judy Price of Radford; two brothers and sister-in-law, Archie Morgan of Dublin, George and Margaret Morgan of Radford; numerous nieces, newphews, other relatives and special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Archie Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Monday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
