Moran, Taylor Craig

Taylor Craig Moran, 89 of Pearisburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at his home. Craig was born on May 29, 1924 in Bassett, VA and was a son of the late Charles Elijah Moran and Minnie Alice Craig Moran. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Wright and Roy Philpot and one sister, Nell Ingram.

Craig was a WWII Navy Veteran, a local businessman his whole life including owning and operating Moran’s Service Station in Bluff City and Southside Grocery in Pearisburg, he was also a member of Giles Masonic Lodge # 106, Giles Shrine Club and the Kazim Shrine Temple in Roanoke.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pat Sale Moran of Pearisburg, three daughters, Trish M. Psathos and husband Anthony, Kim M. Ellis and Karla Moran all of Pearisburg, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg at 3:00 pm with the Rev Dr Brian Burch officiating with burial following in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg Saturday evening from 6 – 8 pm.
