Moran, John Daniel

John Daniel Moran, 79, of Copper Hill, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the VA Medical Center in Salem.

He had a love for Bluegrass Music and loved to pick and grin with anyone who would join in. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Wayne Moran and a grandson, Charlie Moran.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Annie Nichols Moran, of Copper Hill; two sons and wives, Steve and Rosalie Moran, of Copper Hill, Barry and Jayne Moran, of Vinton; two daughters and husbands, Becky and Don Loyd, of Moneta, Wanda and Charles Herrington, of Boones Mill; four grandsons, Billy, Richie, Tim and Joshua; one granddaughter, Nicole; four great-grandchildren; one brother, George Moran, of Norfolk.

Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at the Copper Hill Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Maurice Wright officiating with interment in Restvale Cemetery. Military Rites by Floyd VFW Post 7854 and American Legion Post 127.

Special thanks to a brother-in-law, John Mauk, also to Pallative Care Unit, doctors and staff and the VA Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd.
