James Lloyd Moran was called home on May 12, 2022. Jim was a servant of God, devoted husband, loving father and “Paw Paw”.

Born July 9, 1937 in Floyd County, living most of his life in Christiansburg. Jim is survived by 3 brothers Nelson ( Linda) Moran, George Moran, Bill Moran, sister Mary Higgs and Sister-in-law Charlotte Moran. He was preceded in death by his brother Sam Moran, sister Barbara McCoy and parents, Dexter and Eva Moran.

Jim served in the U.S. Air Force and then worked numerous years at Lynchburg Foundry where he retired.

As an ordained Minister he pastored many churches in southwest Virginia including Wesley Memorial UMC, Mount Elbert UMC, Floyd PHC, Dalewood PHC, Bent Mountain PHC, Hill Top PHC, Rosenbaum PHC, Ivanhoe PHC and most recently he was pastoring Speedwell PHC. Jim loved preaching and spreading the gospel and was an extremely knowledgeable theologian.

After 37 years of marriage, Jim lost his wife Marie. Jim and Marie are survived by two children, Jay (Kelly) Moran and Jamie “Boo” (Wendell) Bond. Jim is survived by 3 grandchildren Wesley (Ashley) Bond, Winston Bond and Abbigail Bond and 4 great grandchildren Mason, Cassidy, Kinsley and Whitt Bond.

Jim found love a second time and married another wonderful woman, Linda Moran. Jim and Linda were married for 20 years living in Wythe County. Survived by her sons Wade (Christina) Tomlinson, Charlie (Julie) Tomlinson, Kevin (Lisa) Tomlinson and 9 step grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, VA. The funeral service will be held at 7:00pm. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Christiansburg, VA.
