Darian Ray Moore, 44, of New Castle/Smith Mt. Lake, VA departed this life Saturday morning, February 8, 2014 at Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Darian was born in Charleston, SC on August 24, 1969 while his parents were serving in the United States Air Force.

When returning to VA he and his twin brother Deane were cared for by a special nanny, Mary Virginia Saunders. Darian graduated from Craig County High School and attended New Rlver Community College. Growing up Darian enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, dirt biking, his many friends and loving family. Darian’s childhood church membership was at Gravel Hill Christian Church, Newport, VA with special Pastor Garner P. Dobyns. In his teen age years, Darian attended the Church of God, Blacksburg, VA.

Darian was a member of the United States Marine Corp. Darian was employed at Food Lion, Moneta, VA for 9 years and spent many happy years and special moments there; his dedication being stupendous, missing 3 days in 8 years.

He is preceded in death by his loving PawPaw Minor R. Estes and Granddaddy Ira J. Moore. Darian is survived by his parents Barbara E. and Jerry R. Moore; his twin brother Deane; his sister Candace Burton, nephew Vincent Burton, niece Kirsten Burton, one great-nephew Ky’leke Eggleston, loving grandmothers Claudine Huffman Estes, Mimia Tolliver Moore, Aunt Cathy Lou Tolliver, Uncle Don and Aunt Patricia Estes, 1st Cousin Celestial Ann Trig, Uncle J D and Aunt Fayetta Tolliver and family and Darian’s special dog, Tuff and many friends both of Craig and Franklin Counties and special friends Jody Shupe, Boop Jones Tracy Elliot, Greg GreenStein, Troy and Angie Enzler, William Goad, Mike and Tony Jarrels.

Family will receive guests Tuesday, Feb. 11, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke. Darian’s funeral will be at the funeral home, Wednesday at 10:00 am with Pastor Alvin Trivette and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating and special speaker Vincent Burton. Burial will follow at the Ross Cemetery in Craig Co.

Special thanks to Pastor Alvin Trivette and Dr. Donald Miller and Staff at Giles Community Hospital. Also, special thanks to all at the church of God Mountain Assembly, Pembroke for powerful dedicated prayer support, Daughter’s of Rachael, VOE, Pastor and Judy Trivette.

A fellowship will follow the burial ceremony at Newport Community Center, refreshments served. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Pathway in Roanoke, VA.

Darian is greatly loved by many and will be sorely missed. A reunion will be in Heaven with Darian’s Savior Jesus Christ and him, family friends and loved ones, Darian will see everyone there!
