Teresa Kirkner (Terry) Mooney, of Dublin, went to be with her Lord Thursday, December 22, 2011, at her home after a short but brave battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.

Born August 23, 1948, in Radford, she was the daughter of the late Elmer E. Kirkner, Sr. She was also preceded in death by grandparents, Robert J. and Ruby Landis Kirkner, and Raymond F. Ratcliffe and Ruth Hall King.

Retired from Radford University, Terry’s passion in life was her family and she never tired of making her home comfortable and beautiful. She delighted in hosting cookouts, parties and other get togethers. She was extraordinarily talented with an eye for decorating, and was called on by many for her expertise.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are husband, Michael Mooney, Dublin; daughter Charis and Richard Hasson, Pulaski; son, William Mooney, Dublin; mother, Betty Lou Ratcliffe Kirkner, Pulaski; grandaughters, Claire and Cora Mooney; brothers, Elmer “Ed” and Vali Kirkner, Velence, Hungary, Tyler F. “Tye” and Pam, Pulaski; niece, Allison Kirkner, Durham, N.C.; nephews, Andrew Kirkner, Morgantown, W.VVa., David, Otto and Tomi Kirkner, Velence, Hungary.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011, at Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Aaron Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski.
