Moody, Nedra C.

Nedra C. Moody, 92, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with her heavenly father on Monday, October 25, 2010. She was preceded in death by her father, John R. Carper; mother, Besse M. Carper ;and sister, Cosby Carper. She had a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science, both in education from Radford University. She worked in the Montgomery County School System for over 30 years as a teacher, resource teacher and finally as assistant principal. Nedra was a life-long member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a member of AKT educational sorority. She is survived by her son, John C. Moody; her sister, Martha C. Walton; brother-in-law, Sam M.B. Walton; and many nieces, grand-niece, grand nephews and generations of students she taught. A special thanks goes out to Anne and Shirley at Southern Care Hospice and the caring staff at Pheasant Ridge Memory Care Unit. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at the Horne Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neal Turner officiating.
