Early on Friday morning, May 30, 2014, God received into Heaven another of his own. Vicki (Meme) Lynn Montgomery, 54, of Parrott, was met and welcomed into that beautiful new home of peace and love where there is no more pain. Meme was born on July 15, 1959 to the late Marvin “Salty” Douglas and Nancy Kimbleton Haley. Left to cherish her precious memory are her three children, a son, Wes Montgomery; and her daughters, Brandy Haley Croy and Pamela Montgomery Viar; and two son-in-laws, James Croy and Trent Viar. Meme will also be sorely missed by her grandchildren, Brandon and Hannah Croy, Emily and Natalie Hardymon, and Nathan Viar.

“Eunice”, as she was also affectionately called, was dearly loved by her sisters, Linda Hodge, who she resided with for several years; Gail Haley; Norma Page; one brother, Roy Haley; and one brother-in-law, Gary Page.

By her bedside during her final days was her one true love of thirty-eight years, Kenny Montgomery. Vicki had rededicated her life to her loving God. She was baptized and ready to go up to her new home.

The family would like to thank all those from Carilion Hospice and her many friends and neighbors who helped make her transition from this earthly home to her heavenly home so much easier.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 1, 2014, from noon until 2 p.m. at Parrott Church of God in Parrott, with funeral services to follow directly after, with The Rev. Ken Alley and the Rev. Eddie Dalton officiating. Interment will follow at the Hickman Family Cemetery in Pulaski County.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be pleased for donations to be sent to DeVilbiss Funeral Home, 1200 Grove Avenue, Radford, VA 24141, to help with funeral costs. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford, VA is in charge of arrangements.
