Montgomery, Dwight Douglas

Dwight Douglas Montgomery, 59, of Camper Road, Pembroke, Va., died on Friday, December 24, 2010. Born in Radford on April 30, 1951, he was a son of Ella Sifford Page of Parrott and the late James Arthur Montgomery.

Until he was disabled he had been employed with Old Dominion Construction Company.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Virginia Katherine Kast Montgomery; his son, David Shrader; and his brothers, Jimmy and Jackie Montgomery.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother and stepfather, Ella Sifford and Rex George Page, of Parrott; his son, Dwight Douglas Montgomery Jr., of Georgia; his daughters, Brittany Leighella Montgomery, of the home, Angela Faye Shrader and fiance, Jason Cairns, of the home, Mariella Montgomery Puryear and husband, William, of Halifax, Laura Spurlock and husband, Buck, of Max Meadows, and Angie Montgomery, of Parrott; his sister, Barbara Talbert, of Parrott; his nine grandchildren; and his sister and brother-in-law, Pam Kast, of Goldbond, and Buddy Kast, of Narrows.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, December 28, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m.
