moles_ethelyne_carterEthelyne Carter Moles, 91, of Pembroke, Va., departed this life on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at South Roanoke Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Willis, in Floyd County, Va., on August 26, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Charles and Velma Carter Burnett. She was a devout Christian, a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Townsend W. Moles; and her brothers, Victor Burnett and Rudolph Burnett. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Stephen W. Moles, of Kingsport; her daughters, Rebecca Des Champs and her husband, Nicholas, of Fincastle, Va., and Bonnie Stevens, of Chester, Va.; her grandchildren, Nikki Des Champs Galapon, Douglas Des Champs, Kelly Stevens, Jason Moles, Susan Moles Robertson, and Mark Moles, USN; and her greatgrandchildren, Ryan Galapon, Nicole Galapon, Serena Moles, Breana Moles, Kylie Robertson, and Aston Robertson. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Rob Lough and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until time for the services. Friends and family will gather in the fellowship center of First United Methodist Church for dinner and fellowship following the graveside services.
