George Moldovan, formerly of Erie, Pennsylvania, died November 4, 2018 at his home in Moody, Alabama. He was 78 years old. Mr. Moldovan was born October 20, 1940 in Panade, Romania. He was a graduate of Erie Technical High School and Gannon University. He has attended Emerson school, Gridley Jr. High school and Strong Vincent High school in his sophomore year.

He had been one of Joseph Plavcan’s scholarship students at Columbus College of Art and Design. He attended graduate school at The University of Maryland while a teacher in that state. He taught briefly in Millcreek at Westlake J. High School and Millcreek Intermediate High School before entering Pharmaceutical sales from which he retired after 30 years in 2003.

Mr. Moldovan had been a District Manager in Upstate New York and in Southern California and later became Manager of Federal Sales and State Contracts for the western half of the country, Hawaii, and Alaska.

He loved the Steelers, hunting, fishing, traveling, wood working, building, and spending time with his family. Mr. Moldovan was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rosalee E. (Virant) Moldovan; two daughters, Judith Ann Ryan (Tim) and Mary Beth McKinnon (Kyle); and a son Christopher J. Moldovan (Nikki);grandchildren, Meredith Ryan, Hannah Ryan Carver (Scott), Allison Ryan, Emma Rose Kinkead, Jacob Kinkead, Kailey McKinnon, Kaylee Moldovan, Jessica Moldovan, Chelsea McKinnon Morris (Christian); great-grandchildren, Scott Carver IV, Koleman Morris, Carleigh Morris, and Christian Morris; his brothers, Emil (Joan) and John (Kathy) and his sister, Maria (Robert) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Maria (Boariu) Moldovan, and an infant daughter, Rita Marie.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, VA. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association, Cure PSP, and American Cancer Society.
