Moffitt, Myron Lester

Myron Lester (Doc) Moffitt, 85, of Christiansburg, died on Monday, June 13, 2011. He was born on July 11, 1925, in New York. He moved to Christiansburg in 2001 when he and Beatrice “Bea” King were married.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dale Oakes; granddaughter, Cassie Oakes; and brother, Jack Moffitt, all of New York. Mr. Moffitt is also survived by his four step-grandchildren, Charles “Chuck” Robert King, Tootie Dove, who was Doc’s special friend and companion to Chuck, Brenda Baker, Joseph “Joe” King, and Donald Wayne King.

The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home on Friday, June 17, 2011, from 6 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in Weed Port Rural Cemetery, Weed Port, N.Y.
