Moffatt, Lucille Snyder

Lucille Snyder Moffatt, 96, of Holiday Island, Ark., died Tuesday, October 11, in Eureka Springs Hospital. She was born March 29, 1915 in Berryville, Virginia, the daughter of Archibald and Alma Snyder. She received her license as a registered nurse following training at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Washington DC in 1937. Prior to moving to the Peachtree Retirement Home in Holiday Island, she lived for many years in Warm Hearth Village in Blacksburg, Va. She was a member of the Lutheran Memorial Church there and was active in volunteer work at the local hospital. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W. Paul Branum. She later was remarried to James E. Moffatt who also preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, William P. Branum Jr. of Holiday Island, Ark., Stephen D. Branum of Jacksonville, Fla., and John L. Branum of Richmond, Va; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held October 29 at 2 p.m. at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church at 600 Prices Forks Road, Blacksburg, Va.
