Mitchell, Bertha Garcia

Bertha Garcia Mitchell, 71, of Pulaski, formerly of Cuba, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. She worked in the Pulaski County and New River Resource Authority for over 20 years. She was a passionate quilter and avid seamstress. Having a kind and loving heart she was cherished by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Elwood Mitchell. She is survived by her son, Anthony Elwood Mitchell; her daughter, Rose Maria Mitchell; her two grandchildren, Jesse Nicole Mitchell, Angela Darlene Mitchell; her great-grandson, Emmett Dean Mitchell; her two sisters, Rosa G. Ricardo and Janude G. Ricardo; and numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins.

Family and friends will be received between 5 and 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 with a prayer service starting at 6 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 815 Randolph Ave, Pulaski, Va. 24301. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Edwards Catholic Church, North Washington Ave. and 7th. St. NW, Pulaski, Va. 24301.
