Mirra, Cosmo Anthony

Cosmo Anthony Mirra, 56, of Blacksburg, died Monday, January 29, 2007. He was born in Eboli, Italy on August 31, 1950. He was preceded in death by his father, Constantino Mirra and a sister, Maria Zappone.

Cosmo was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was the director of Marketing at Kollmorgen Danaher Corporation in Radford.

He is survived by his wife, Jan S. Mirra of Blacksburg; a son, Lucian Mirra of Blacksburg and Newport News; his mother, Anna Mirra of Charlottesville; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucy and Vito Vacco of Stanardsville, Va.; a brother, Joseph Mirra of Florida; and several nieces and nephews, and numerous good friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Father James Arsenault officiating. Burial will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Ridge Mountains Council, Boy Scouts of America, P.O. Box 7606, Roanoke, Va. 24019. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Wednesday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
