Kendall Allen Minnick, S SGT (retired), 73, of Christiansburg, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at New River Valley Medical Center.

He was born in McCoy, Va. on May 17, 1933 to the late William Meller and Mary Lucille McCoy Minnick and was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lydia and Alice Minnick and four brothers, Arnold, Alonzo, Cecil and Warren Minnick.

Allen retired from the U.S. Army, with 20 years of service, proudly serving in Korea and Vietnam. Allen’s favorite hobby and his love was his farm.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lois Helen Minnick of Christiansburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kendall Allen, Jr. and Melanie Minnick, James Lee and Debbie Minnick, all of Christiansburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mayme Edith Meredith of Christiansburg, Nelda Marie and Carl Graves of Longshop, Evelyn Jeanette and Thurman Duncan of Bassett; three grandchildren, Steven and wife Amanda Minnick, AJ Minnick, Austin Minnick and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Sutphin officiating. Interment will follow in the Belmont Cemetery, Christiansburg, Va. Friends may call any time after 12 noon Thursday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
