Minnick, Frank Andrew

Frank Andrew Minnick, 95, of Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Mr. Minnick was born May 11, 1917, in Mechanicsburg, and was a son of the late James Monroe Minnick and Nancy Catherine Minnick. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Sara Earnestine Wilburn Minnick; and eight brothers and sisters. Mr. Minnick was a retired shop foreman at the Giles County School Bus Garage. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors and always had a garden. He is survived by two sons, Frank Arnold Minnick and wife, Barbara Minnick, of Etna, Maine, Leroy Easley Minnick and wife, Noella, of Pearisburg; two daughters, Brenda Jean M. Parcell and husband, Gerald, of Pearisburg, Linda M. Altizer and husband, Rodney, of Christiansburg; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012, at the Givens Funeral Chapel in Pearisburg with the Rev. Ted P. Anders officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilburn Cemetery, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from noon to 1 p.m. Givens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
