On December 9, 2020, at 6:14 AM, Tamela (Tammy) Evangeline Dickson Miller passed on to her heavenly home. She was born on June 14, 1966, on her mother’s birthday, and it was on this day in 1985 that she chose to marry the love of her life, Robert D. Miller.

Tammy was a longstanding member of the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church, where she served as clerk. If Tammy was anything, she was a perfect wife and mother, caring deeply for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a selfless individual, as mothers are called to be, making sure others were taken care of before herself.

Tammy was a graduate of Ferrum College, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. She started work at Celanese in the chemistry labs. After graduation, she taught Chemistry at Bassett High School in Basset, VA. She was the co-owner of Southern Pride Cabinets in Ferrum, VA. She then spent the years following homeschooling her children before working as a secretary for the town of Glen Lynn, VA.

She is survived by her husband Robert of Peterstown, WV, her son Russell and wife Elise of Canonsburg, PA, her daughter Bethany of Peterstown, WV, and grandchildren Lathan, Payton, and Grayson Miller of Canonsburg, PA. She is also survived by her parents Harold and Janet Dickson of Greenville, WV, her sister Melissa Burks and husband Jeremy of Princeton, WV, and brother Jason Dickson and wife Angela of New Bern, NC, and many nieces and nephews. In her final moments, she is giving the gift of life to multiple recipients through organ donation, finishing out her calling to put others before herself.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the Indian Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Greenville, WV, with Elders Jimmy Boothe, Norvel Mann, and Thomas Mann officiating. Burial will follow at Keaton Cemetery in Greenville, WV. A visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, December 11, 2020, at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV.
