Miller, Shirley Belcher
Shirley Belcher Miller, 75, of Christiansburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 5, 2013. She was born April 27, 1937 in Coaldale, W.Va. in Mercer County to the late Jessie Franklin and Bertha Virginia Lanter Belcher. She was also preceded in death by one brother and six sisters.
She was a member of Ellett Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved to travel with family and friends and enjoyed quilting. She was loved by everyone she ever came in contact with and you were only a stranger to her until she spoke to you.
Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life, her husband of 59 years, Wilburn David Miller; sisters, Goldie Mae Caughron of Christiansburg, and Shelby Jean Terry of Iron Mountain, Mich.; brother-in-law, Willis Miller and his wife Joy of Rogersville, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Nina VanGorden and her husband Rick and Nancy Puckett and her husband Larry all of Christiansburg; and numerous special nieces; and nephews; and other family; and friends.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Jamison, Dr. McCoy, and all of the nurses and staff at Lewis Gale Montgomery Regional Hospital for their exceptional care above and beyond.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 7, 2013 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2720 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 with Pastor Richard Kingrea and Pastor Steve Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, VA.
