Miller, Robert Charles

Robert Charles (R.C.) Miller, 76, of Christiansburg, Va., formerly of Pilot, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 12, 2008.

Mr. Miller retired from Shell Finishing-Lynchburg Foundry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” and T. Pearl Barker Miller, son, Kevin C. Miller, sisters, Marie Phillips and Merl Flinchum and a brother, James A. “Carry” Miller.

He is survived by his wife, Nettie Carmell Miller; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Jimmy Smith; daughter-in-law, Susan Miller; brothers and sisters-in-law, William C. and Dorothy Miller, Sonny and Loretta Miller. Also surviving are granddaughters, Melissa Miller and Stacie L. Smith; granddaughters and husbands, Cassie and Cory Winfrey, Bridget and Scott Perfater, Vickie and Patrick Griggs, Shannon D. and Peter Hannon; grandsons and wives, Russell and Shelia Smith, Micheal and Monica Silcox; great-grandchildren, Madison Smith, Jacob Miller, Jeremiah Griggs, Kesha Akers, Mikinzi and Raven Winfrey, Michael and Austin Silcox. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2008 at Horne Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2008, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buford Linkous, Rev. Leon Alley, and Rev. Claude Dove Officiating.
