Melanie Jane Honaker Miller, age 55, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at her home in Peterstown, WV. Born April 4, 1962, in Union, WV, she was the daughter of Jesse Honaker and Drucella Bare Feamster.

Melanie was a 1980 graduate of Narrows High School in Narrows, VA, and also completed cosmetology school at Giles County Vocational School. She worked as a cosmetologist and also as a pharmacy technician, but spent most of her life as a dedicated homemaker.

Melanie was a devoted wife, daughter, mother and grandmother. She loved God and He was the center of her life from the time she was a child until God called her home. She loved spending time with family, especially little Lanie. She also loved spending time with friends and at church; she was a member of the Appalachian Christian Center in Peterstown, WV. Through her life and during her illness, she was a Christian testimony to all who knew her, never losing faith in God and always giving God glory and honor. Her life was characterized by sweetness, kindness, caring and most of all, forgiveness. She was a blessing to all who knew her and to many who never knew her. She loved spring time and God called her home on a lovely spring day. We take comfort in knowing that Melanie is now in the loving hands of God, with no more pain, suffering or sickness and that one day we will see her beautiful face again.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Dr. Stephen M. Miller; one son, Brad Miller and wife Chelsea of Christiansburg, VA; two brothers, Carl Honaker and wife Jenny of Pearisburg, VA, and Phillip Honaker of Ronceverte, WV; one sister, Amanda Honaker of Lindside, WV; and one granddaughter, Lanie Miller.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Appalachian Christian Center in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Michael Biggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Honaker Cemetery at Coffman Hill in Ronceverte, WV. John Terry, Randy Nicewonder, Eddie McDowell, Steve Ballengee, Chris Booth, Jim Gore, Harry Brown, and Larry Hall will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of services on Saturday at the church. Online guestbook can be signed or condolences may be sent to the family at www.broyles-shrewsbury.com.
