Miller, Loretta Duncan

Loretta Duncan Miller, 78 of Riner, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie B. & Vina Elizabeth Dulaney Duncan; brothers, Jasper Duncan, Hasker Duncan, Esley Duncan, Alpha Duncan, and Roland Duncan; sisters, Esma Akers, Alma Hammond, and Vina Drucella Duncan (infant); and brother-in-law, Loman Smith.

Loretta loved her children and was known as “mom” to many. She worked for the DMV and loved gardening, crafting, crocheting, and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress. She had a love for antiques. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Sonny Lee Miller; children and their spouses, Pamela Ingram (Robert), Garret Miller (Sally), Nathan Miller (Tracey), Lydia Thomas (Michael), and Gregory Miller (Sharon); grandchildren, Devon Lunsford, Ethan Miller, Treavor Miller, Stella Miller, Simon Thomas, Jessica Harman, Jonathan Miller, Kerrie Miller, India Eanes, and Philip Stuart; great-grandchildren, Dalton Thomas, Madison Thomas, Ezekiel Eanes, and Landon Stuart; special sister, Lorraine Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved pet, Sundrop.

Funeral service will be held at Noon on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley “Shake” Smith. Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Jacksonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. – Noon prior to the service.
