Larry A. Miller, 69, of Christiansburg passed away on October 2, 2014. He was born July 21, 1945 to the late Iva Lane and Charlie C. Miller. Survived by his loving wife, numerous cousins and many special friends.

He was a member of the Army in the Vietnam Era where he was assigned to the Engineering Core and honor guard and was stationed at Fort Mammoth, NJ. He graduated with honors from Virginia Tech where he earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked many years and retired from Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN. He enjoyed using his engineering skills and was an excellent carpenter.

He was an active member of Colonial Heights Christian Church in Kingsport, TN and went on mission trips to Romania and India. He enjoyed traveling extensively to foreign countries.

He was a crew member for an International Motor Sports team for several years and enjoyed hunting and hiking the Appalachian Trails and others. His greatest accomplishments were hiking Mt. Whitney with a group of friends, hiking and camping the complete Andes Inca Trail in Peru for 2 weeks with his wife and friends.

The family received friends on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 10-11:30 at Horne Funeral Home. A procession will follow to Waterview Cemetery in Radford for a 12:00 Noon graveside service.
