Douglas Dehart (D.D.) Miller, 67, of 5748 Dalton Drive, Dublin passed away Saturday, December 23, 2006 at the Giles Memorial Hospital. Born December 20, 1939 in Bland County, he was the son of the late Albert Lee Miller, Sr. and Edna Ruth DeHart Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Alice May Williams Miller on November 13, 2006.

He spent 37 years as a professional truck driver. He was a veteran of the United States Army, last serving with Company C, 1st Airborne Battle Group, and 502d Infantry. He was a member of Henry Clay Lodge #280 A.F & A.M. and attended the Newbern Christian Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Drema Dee Miller, Dublin; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Douglas Miller and Donna Smith Miller, Richmond, Doyle Lee Miller and Regina Gordon Miller, Chesterfield; two grandchildren, Jennifer Martin Finch, Adam Michael Miller; great-granddaughter, Ella Elizabeth Finch; brothers, Albert L. “June” Miller, Jr., Bland and Darnell Miller, Bland.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 26, 2006 at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski from 6 to 8 p.m., with an evening memorial service to follow at 8 p.m. conducted by the Henry Clay Lodge # 280 A.F. & A.M.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, 11 a.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with Pastor Dewey Conley, of Bozoo Christian Church, Bozoo, W.Va. officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Garden, Dublin with full military honors at the graveside conducted by Pulaski V.F.W. Post 1184. E-mail condolences, www. bowerfuneralhome.com.
