Miles, Joe

Joe Miles of Christiansburg, born February 19, 1959, passed away on July 18, 2011, at the age of 52. He was preceded in death by his son, Jason L. Miles; grandparents, James and Martha Miles, and Ward and Ethel Moore. He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, Suzy Miles; his son, Justin W. Miles; his parents, Pete and Mary Lou Miles; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joe attended Christiansburg High School and New River Community College. He was a Deputy Sheriff with Montgomery County, serving as a road deputy and investigator for many years. Joe was a lifetime member of the Christiansburg Rescue Squad. He was the owner of Joe Miles Plumbing for 25 years. He cherished the time he was hunting deer, turkey, groundhogs and fishing for stripers at the lake. He enjoyed many happy hours with his family and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg. The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Neal Turner officiating.
