Merolla, Louis Pasqule

Louis Pasquale (Big Lou) Merolla, 74, of Blacksburg, Virginia, died Sunday, January 18, 2009. Lou retired after 36 years of service from Chester Cable, Chester, N.Y. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Trout Brook Engine and Hose Company of Chester, N.Y. where he served as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and chaplain, through his years of service to them. He was also a member of the Orange County Fire Police and was a United States Navy Veteran.

Mr. Merolla was preceded in death by his mother and father, Antoinette and father Luigi. He is survived by his partner, Kathleen Kohl and three children, Andrew Merolla and his wife, Michele, Kevin Merolla, and Caitlin Kohl. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Antonia and Michael Merolla. He was deeply loved, and will be missed by his partner and his children. The family will welcome friends at The Horne Funeral Home, Tuesday, January 20, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
